A cable certification tester (network certifier) proves that passive structured copper cabling meets the requirements of national and international standards such as ISO/IEC 11801 or DIN EN 50173.

How does a copper certifier work?
A cable certification tester determines all electrical and high-frequency parameters of a cabling link and automatically compares them against defined standard limits.
The typical procedure includes:
- Automatic detection of the test class (e.g. Cat 6A, Cat 8 or Class FA).
- Precise measurement of key parameters such as insertion loss, near-end and far-end crosstalk (NEXT/FEXT), return loss, and interference-related crosstalk.
- Evaluation against the selected standard with an automated pass/fail result.
- Storage and reporting of results, including the generation of standard-compliant test reports for acceptance, documentation, and warranty validation.
