How does an Ethernet qualifier work?

An Ethernet network qualifier performs practical measurements across the entire connection—from the network outlet to the active device.

  1. Automatic line diagnosis – checks wiring, cable length, and wire pairs to detect installation issues
  2. Bit error rate test (BERT) – sends real Ethernet packets at selected speeds (1–10 Gbit/s) and verifies transmission integrity
  3. Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) – evaluates transmission quality and ensures stable operation
  4. PoE load test – verifies reliable power delivery up to 90 W for devices such as access points, cameras, and IP phones
