Serie FiberXpert - Strumenti per il collaudo e la certificazione delle fibre ottiche

Reliable Solutions for Fibre Optic Testing and Analysis

The FiberXpert series from Softing IT Networks provides comprehensive measurement solutions for fibre optic testing, certification, and fault analysis.

It includes:

  • FiberXpert 700 – Tier 1 attenuation and certification testing
  • FiberXpert OTDR 5000 – Tier 2 fault analysis and diagnostics

The FiberXpert 700 measures attenuation, optical power, and continuity for both multimode and singlemode fibre.

The OTDR 5000 provides detailed insights into:

  • Reflections
  • Event locations
  • Fibre quality

Together, they form a complete solution for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

FiberXpert Series

The FiberXpert series supports all standard fibre optic testing requirements:

  • Tier 1 certification (attenuation, power, continuity)
  • Tier 2 OTDR analysis (fault location and reflection analysis)

The FiberXpert 700 provides:

  • Automatic wavelength detection
  • PASS/FAIL evaluation
  • On-device reporting

The OTDR 5000 delivers:

  • Graphical fibre trace visualization
  • Precise fault location
  • Short dead zones (<80 cm) for data centre applications

FAQ

700 = Tier 1 certification
OTDR 5000 = Tier 2 fault analysis

Singlemode (1310/1550 nm) and multimode (850/1300 nm)

The FiberXpert 700 offers four modes:

  • CERT (certification of individual links),
  • LOSS (optical loss measurement),
  • OPM (optical power meter for transmit/receive power),
  • Continuity test.

The FiberXpert 700 shows a PASS/FAIL indicator directly on the display.

The FiberXpert OTDR 5000 also evaluates measurement results in accordance with standards and displays critical events such as reflections or excessive attenuation in the graphical curve.

The FiberXpert 700 stores up to 10,000 measurement values, which can be exported via USB.

The FiberXpert OTDR 5000 stores complete OTDR traces, which are used for detailed documentation and reports.

SoftingView software for reporting and analysis

The FiberXpert 700 offers up to 50 hours of operation with its lithium polymer battery.

The FiberXpert OTDR 5000 also has battery operation for mobile use (several hours of operation, depending on usage).

Yes, OTDR 5000 supports short distances with minimal dead zones

With the FiberXpert 700, a reference must be set before an attenuation measurement. This is the only way to ensure that the results are standard-compliant and comparable.

The device locates and classifies events such as splices, connectors, cable ends, reflections and breaks along the fiber.
