Powerful project and measurement data management for WireXpert users
The eXport software from Softing IT Networks is the ideal tool for managing, analyzing and documenting measurement data from WireXpert testers. The software supports both copper and fibre optic measurements and offers an intuitive user interface for easy access to your projects. Structured project management with a hierarchical structure (buildings, floors, rooms, etc.) allows you to keep track of all tests performed at all times.
Import measurement results directly from the device or via USB stick, edit cable designations, filter results and create clear reports in PDF or CSV format – including your company logo. Thanks to the recertification option, new standards can also be applied retrospectively without having to repeat the measurement. Integration into the eXport Cloud also enables location-independent data transfer.

FAQ
Connect the WireXpert to the PC once to initialise the driver. Use a mini USB cable for this.
This is not possible at present. The complete redevelopment of the software made a change to the file system unavoidable. However, software is in the planning stage that will enable the old project files to be converted to the new format. Please contact our support team wenn if you require an urgent conversion of your data.
System requirements
The device software is included in the eXport software. Follow these steps to update your firmware:
1. Connect a USB stick to your PC
2. Select "Tools" -> "Update device software"
3. Select your USB memory stick in the drive selection and press "Export"
4. Connect the USB memory to a WireXpert device
5. Select "Firmware" -> "Update Firmware"
6. Wait until the firmware update is complete. If necessary, connect the power supply to ensure power is supplied during the process.
7. Repeat the process on the other handheld device.
TIP: You can also update both devices in parallel using a second USB stick. This will halve the update time.
The RemoteXpert function allows you to transfer the WireXpert screen to your PC. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Connect the switched-on WireXpert to the PC via a mini USB cable.
2. Start the eXport software on your PC.
3. Click on the small arrow icon at the bottom right of the screen.
4. Select "Remote Display" in the window that appears.
Follow these steps:
1. Load the desired test results into the eXport software
2. Select the test results you want to export as a PDF
3. Select "Export" -> "PDF". Then either "Summary" for a short summary of all results as a list or "Detailed" for a detailed report of all test results in a PDF
4. Confirm the following dialogue with "OK"
5. Specify the storage location on your PC and start the PDF report
TIP: You can significantly reduce the output time of the PDF by setting a low resolution for the graphs under "Settings" -> "Report format" -> "Plots".
Follow these steps:
1. Start the eXport software
2. Select "Tools" -> "Label List Generator" The label scheme is based on the CENELEC EN 50173-1/ ISO/IEC 11801:2002 standard for structured cabling.
3. Specify the desired prefix in the "Building" field. The prefix remains constant and unchanged in every label. Example: "Factory Hall 1" or "Company XY"
4. You must now decide which levels you want to use. If, for example, there is only one floor and one distribution room, the check mark can be removed. This level will then not be taken into account.
5. Then fill in the levels with your number. The first field specifies the separator used to separate the different levels from each other. Characters such as "Factory hall 1-1", "Factory hall 1|1" or "Factory hall 1/1" are commonly used here. However, you can choose any characters you like.
6. Specify the start value. If you want to start with the first distribution cabinet, enter "1" or "A", for example.
7. Specify the end value. If you have 3 distribution cabinets in this building, enter "3" or "C", for example.
8. Fill in all levels with start and end values. The labels you have created are displayed in a preview in the window below.
9. Connect a USB stick to the PC.
10. Select "Export to USB" to copy the finished labels to the removable media. Assign a name to the list. The prefix is a good choice here.
11. Press "Export" to copy the list. Connect the USB stick to the local device and copy the list to the tester. You can now select the label list for the test under "Label".
Firmware updates for your WireXpert and software updates for the eXport software are free of charge. Register at MySofting to be notified of software updates by email.
You can set up projects on your PC by creating hierarchical label lists (see above).
There are basically two ways to do this:
A. Transfer the test results via USB flash memory.
1. Connect the supplied USB stick to the local device.
2. Select "Export" -> "Test results" on the device.
All results stored on the device will be transferred.
3. Connect the USB memory stick to your PC.
4. Start your eXport software. Select "Import" -> "USB flash drive".
5. Select the locations you want to import and press "Import Selection".
B. Transferring test results via USB cable
1. Connect the local device to the PC using a mini USB cable.
2. Start the eXport software. The connection indicator of the eXport software at the bottom right shows that you have successfully paired the WireXpert with the PC.
3. Select "Import" -> "Device".
4. Select the locations you want to import and press "Import Selection".
