WireXpert Series - Cable Certification Tester for Copper and Fiber Networks

Flexible and Precise Cable Certification Solutions

The WireXpert series from Softing IT Networks provides a comprehensive and precise solution for certifying copper and fiber optic networks.

It includes two models:

  • WireXpert 500 – ideal for standard network environments
  • WireXpert 4500 – high-end certification for advanced and high-speed networks

The WireXpert 500 is designed for installers who need to certify copper cabling up to Category 6A (Class EA). With a frequency range up to 500 MHz, it offers a cost-effective and efficient solution for typical enterprise networks.

The WireXpert 4500, as a high-performance cable certification tester, supports copper and fiber certification up to Category 8, with a frequency range up to 2500 MHz—making it ideal for data centers, industrial networks, and complex cabling infrastructures.

Fiber Optic Test with WireXpert 4500

WireXpert Series

All models feature a modular design and enable efficient operation using two identical handheld devices with the Dual Control System (DCS™).

The integrated eXport software simplifies reporting and documentation, while support for:

  • Multimode fiber (850/1300 nm)
  • Single-mode fiber (1310/1550 nm)

ensures compatibility with all common network standards and applications—from backbone installations to industrial Ethernet environments.

This flexibility makes the WireXpert series a reliable and scalable alternative to traditional certification systems.

Which model is right for me?

WireXpert 500

If you primarily need to certify copper cabling in standard network environments up to Category 6A, the WireXpert 500 is the ideal solution.

It supports certification for networks up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet and can be upgraded to support higher categories or fiber optic testing if required.

WireXpert 4500

For highly complex environments such as data centers, industrial networks, or Cat 8 cabling, the WireXpert 4500 is the optimal choice.

With measurements up to 2500 MHz and support for alien crosstalk (AXT) measurements, it meets the highest certification requirements.

Demo mode may be active. Disable it via:
[Tools] → Demo Mode

Memory is automatically synchronized once both devices are connected.

  • Green: Ready for measurement
  • Green + orange: Charging and active
  • Red: Charging while powered off
  • Flashing red: Battery/contact issue - Remove the battery, clean the contacts, fully discharge and recharge. If the error persists, replace the battery or contact support.

Yes, from software version 4.7 onwards. Instructions are available from technical support.

Only the LOCAL unit supports data export.

The Talkset function is available from software version 4.5.1 onwards. In some cases, the ON/OFF labels on the headset are reversed – please switch them around.

Connect headsets → Activate Talkset → Call starts automatically after 3 seconds.

For synchronization during alien crosstalk (AXT) measurements.

  • After adapter changes
  • After environmental changes
  • Via: [Tools] → Set Reference

  • Physical wear
  • Unstable measurements
  • Regular reference checks recommended

Using wiremap, autotest, and the Locator function for frequency-based fault detection.

  • Channel adapter (RJ45)
  • Permanent link adapter (TERA)

Both comply with ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA standards.

Electrical measurements cannot determine the exact location of wire swaps.
