Frequently asked questions

Verify, qualify, certify—what's the difference?

Verify – quick basic check: Is everything connected correctly?

Is the transmission working in principle? Testing or verifying means determining the extent to which a test object meets a requirement, for example, whether wires are connected correctly and whether data transmission is possible in principle.

This can be checked immediately with a cable tester or network cable tester.

Our CableMaster series (CM-210, CM-PoE, CM-FO) and the LinkXpert TP and M3 deliver fast results and offer the option of complete documentation.

Qualify – prove performance

Is the existing infrastructure sufficient for the planned applications? Qualification (validation) is the process of proving that a system meets performance requirements in real-world conditions.

With a network cable qualifier or LAN qualification tester, you can verify that your cabling supports required performance levels—from 1 Gbit/s to 10 Gbit/s, including fibre optics and WLAN.

The NetXpert XG2 and NetXpert XG2-PLUS provide accurate measurements along with convenient functions for saving, printing, and documenting results.

Certification – proving standards compliance

When it comes to official standards such as EN50173, EN50174, or ISO/IEC 11801, certification is essential. It is the only way to prove compliance with international standards beyond doubt.

A cable certification tester (network certifier) verifies compliance with defined standards and generates documentation required for acceptance, warranty validation, and long-term network reliability.

The WireXpert MP and WireXpert series provide high-precision certification devices—making it a preferred choice for professional network installations and a flexible alternative to traditional certification platforms.
